South Carolina U.S. Senate candidate Krystle Matthews (D) is dealing with calls from inside her personal celebration to finish her marketing campaign, following the publication of leaked audio during which she seems to make disparaging remarks about her constituents, the AP studies.
Sitting in a restaurant, Matthews, who’s Black, is heard saying that she represents a “principally white” district, including, of white voters: “I maintain them proper right here — like below my thumbs… In any other case, they get uncontrolled — like children.”
