As winter climate prompts flight cancellations throughout the nation, some are hitting the street as an alternative to make it dwelling for the vacations.
Alice Adkins Aldredge was in Chicago for the Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic alongside together with her husband, Tripp, and son, Greyson. Their flight out of Halfway was canceled Thursday morning because of the climate.
Alice informed CNN they’ve household visiting for the vacations, so it was necessary they bought again to their dwelling in Charleston, South Carolina.
“We determined to threat it on the street,” she stated.
They booked a rental automotive and commenced driving round 10:30 a.m. CT. The plan is to drive 12 hours to Charlotte, North Carolina to drop off their buddy, who caught a journey with them. They may then drive one other 3 extra hours to Charleston for a complete of 15 hours on the street.
“All the pieces has been nice to this point,” Alice stated, “We’ve gotten to see some sights alongside the best way and we get to spend time collectively.”
