Amid the continued debate on revri, i.e. distributing freebies for votes, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Saturday stated mortgage waivers for industrialists was akin to allotting “ rabri” to them.
“I need to ask after we give mortgage waivers to our farmers right here, you name them revri however when loans amounting to 10 trillion rupees are waived off for ten industrialists, that’s rabri being served to them,” stated the Chief Minister, referring to the favored Indian milk-based dessert.
Mr. Baghel was addressing a gathering after inaugurating Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai district because the thirty first district of the State. Itemizing out among the welfare measures taken up by his Congress authorities, he questioned the logic of dubbing such measures as revri.
